PTSD Study - call for volunteers!

Mates4Mates is supporting a study being carried out by the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation and we are looking for volunteers to assist. The purpose of the research is to determine a valid assessment of activity levels in people who experience Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). To be eligible for the study you will:

  • Be aged 18-65
  • Be diagnosed with PTSD
  • Be available to come to M4M for two visits, 1 week apart (see dates below)

On visit 1 (Friday 21st April at 10am at the Brisbane Family Recovery Centre) you will:

  • Have your weight, waist circumference, body mass index and blood pressure assessed by our research assistant (2-3 minutes).
  • Complete a questionnaire regarding the severity of your mental health symptoms (5 minutes).
  • Complete a brief memory test with our clinical psychologist (5 minutes).
  • Complete a brief interview regarding your physical activity levels (5 minutes).

On visit 2 (Friday 28th April at 10am at the Brisbane Family Recovery Centre) you will:

  • Complete a brief interview regarding your physical activity levels (5 minutes).

For the seven days between visits you will be asked to wear a small device that will monitor your activity during waking hours. If you are willing to participate in the study (or have any questions), please email Rebecca Theal from Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation on ThealR@ramsayhealth.com.au
