During the festive season, it is sometimes easy to get caught up in the hype of present buying and celebrating in a certain way. At Mates4Mates we have some fantastic fundraisers that work hard and tirelessly to raise funds to support more Mates to access our services.
Please help support some of our end of year fundraisers and help them to reach their targets!
Cycling for Mates
A Western Australia based fundraiser, Vik, undertook a 1000km cycling challenge over five days to raise awareness and funds for Mates4Mates. Check out some of the photos and read Vik’s story.
Light up the night for Mates
A Townsville fundraiser has done an amazing Christmas light display and will be collecting donations every evening from Christmas-light goers. If you’d like to make a contribution, make sure to add Swan Court, Douglas (Townsville) to your Christmas light route. If you can't make it to the display you can always donate to help support us.
Trekking for Mates
A NSW fundraiser, Graham, undertook the enormous Kokoda Trek at the start of November to raise awareness of the “trials and tribulations confronting our returned service personnel” and Mates4Mates. I’m sure many of our Mates who have previously done Kokoda will relate to the enormity of the challenge. Feel free to check out Graham’s EveryDay Hero page and make a donation.
Curry for Mates
On New Year's Day 2018, the team will embark on a 3000 km journey down the west coast of India. Grant and Simon will have 14 days to drive an auto-Rickshaw (or Tuk-Tuk) from, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, to Kochin, Kerala. The event is organised by the Adventurists, who are "fighting to make the world a little less boring, and to save a bit of it too". There are around 70 teams participating in the event and all are doing so in an attempt to raise money for worthwhile causes including Mates4Mates. Donate here or follow their adventures through their Facebook page.
