Josh McGuire joined the Brisbane Broncos Under 20 Squad in 2008 at the age of 18 and made his NRL debut only a year later. He is known as a fast and powerful player who goes from strength to strength every season. In 2014 Josh was named Broncos Best Forward. Such are his exceptional talents on the field, he has been sought after by a number of rival clubs, although he is currently still contracted to the Brisbane Broncos.
Although he may look ferocious on the field, Josh is widely known and respected as a “gentle giant” throughout the club and with all who meet him. Due to his caring and giving nature, Josh is already strongly linked to a number of charitable organisations. He is particularly excited about being an Ambassador for Mates4Mates, as his father is an enlisted soldier therefore he has a passion for veterans.
His steely resolve to never stop improving has paved the way for an exceptional future: he puts in extra hours at the gym outside of training, he is studying criminal justice in preparation for life after football, and he is looking forward to putting a generous amount of time into his role as an ambassador for wounded, injured and ill Mates and their families.
