Mates4Mates Foundations of Movement Program

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Foundations of Movement Program might be for you! 

What is the Foundations of Movement Program?

The newly developed Foundations of Movement program aims to support veterans rethink their approach to exercise, shifting away from a military mindset to a healthier, sustainable approach that supports long-term health and wellbeing. 

Facilitated by Mates4Mates exercise physiologist, the workshop will provide education and discussion to identify differences between military and civilian exercise, and understand how exercise can assist your identity transition to civilian life and how it is used to rehabilitate injuries. 

Please note, there is a minimum number of participants required for facilitation of this program. The program may be cancelled if the minimum number is not met.

Upcoming Program

Townsville

Our next workshop will run in person on Tuesday, 28 April 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the RSL Queensland Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centre, Townsville. 

Veterans who are interested in participating in the Foundations of Movement Program will need to undertake an expression of interest (EOI) process. This EOI includes a clinical screening to ensure this program is suitable for you. 

Expressions of interest for this program will open on Monday, 30 March 2026.  

Places in the workshop are available to veterans who have completed the Mates4Mates new client form. If you have not submitted this form and would like to take part, simply fill out the new client form online and our team will be in touch soon.
