3-day wellness program Gold Coast Hinterland

Take the time to focus on yourself at our 3-day wellness program at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland. These programs, funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, have been designed to meet the needs of younger veterans, to equip them with the tools they need to build a healthy and purposeful life away from the ADF.

Run by a qualified team of Mates4Mates psychologists and exercise physiologists, the program is free to attend, with all meals and activities included.

Places in the program are limited to those who meet one of the following selection criteria:

  • Aged 18-35
  • Have been discharged involuntarily for medical reasons; and/or
  • Are not holding commissioned officer rank at discharge

Activities you will enjoy over the weekend may include:

  • Movement activities
  • Art activities
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Mindfulness and relaxation
  • Yoga
  • Stand up paddle boarding

The program is limited to a maximum capacity of eight people, and expressions of interest will be subject to approval by our team of psychologists. Applicants are not required to be an inducted Mates4Mates member, and applications are open to anyone who meets the above selection criteria.

Important note:

We ask that anyone who is unwell or displaying flu-like symptoms remain at home for the safety of all Mates and staff members.

All face-to-face Mates4Mates activities will require you to:

  • Follow social distancing guidelines of 1.5m, maintain good hand hygiene and follow instructions provided to you
  • Complete a health declaration upon arrival or prior to arrival as per the Government guidelines
