3-day wellness program Tasmania

Get out of the city and into our 3-day wellness program at Stewarts Bay Lodge in Tasmania. Funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, these programs have been designed to meet the needs of younger veterans, to equip them with the tools they need to build a healthy and purposeful life away from the ADF.

The program is free to attend (food and accommodation included) and will be run over the course of a weekend by a qualified team of Mates4Mates psychologists and exercise physiologists, dedicated to helping young veterans get the most out of the program.

Places in the program are limited to those who meet one of the following selection criteria:

  • Aged 18-35
  • Have been discharged involuntarily for medical reasons; and/or
  • Are not holding commissioned officer rank at discharge

Activities you will enjoy over the weekend may include:

  • Movement activities
  • Art activities
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Mindfulness and relaxation
  • Yoga
  • Stand up paddle boarding

The program is limited to a maximum capacity of eight people, and expressions of interest will be subject to approval by our team of psychologists. Applicants are not required to be an inducted Mates4Mates member, and applications are open to anyone who meets the above selection criteria.

Expressions of interest for this program are now closed.

Important note:

We ask that anyone who is unwell or displaying flu-like symptoms remain at home for the safety of all Mates and staff members.

All face-to-face Mates4Mates activities will require you to:

  • Follow social distancing guidelines of 1.5m, maintain good hand hygiene and follow instructions provided to you
  • Complete a health declaration upon arrival or prior to arrival as per the Government guidelines
