Support for veterans takes to the skies

Set in the picturesque Somerset, just outside of Brisbane, the 2022 Brisbane Airshow is sure to have something for everyone.

Taking flight on 2-3 July 2022, the weekend event promises to offer air displays with historical warbirds and World War II Fighters, jets, helicopter rides, aerobatics, skydiving, hot rods and classic cars, live music, gourmet food, amusement park rides, and lots more.

Gill Vardi, Air-Boss for the 2022 Brisbane Airshow, shares how the airshow is hoping to deliver an inclusive experience which provides fun and thrill for every member of the family.

“Whilst we're very keen for good weather and some sense of renewed normalcy, were mostly looking forward to a spirt of community and comradeship amongst like-minded individuals celebrating aviation, both past and present,” adds Gill.

Through the purchase of a ticket, donations can be made to Mates4Mates as the Charity of Choice for 2022. 

Mates4Mates was honoured to join forces with the 2022 Brisbane Airshow to continue supporting the Defence community. These funds will support veterans and their families experiencing service-related physical injuries, mental health issues and isolation.

“The Brisbane Airshow team have a deep history with aviation and the Defence Force, and it was important to us that we honour and support our service personnel and recognise their many sacrifices,” explains Gill.

“As our Charity of Choice, Mates4Mates offers palpable support to our Defence community and are guided by action not just words. They very much identify with our airshow theme and aviation industry at large.”
