Mates4Mates Explaining the Brain Program

Are you a veteran or a family member who wants to better understand the symptoms and experiences of post-traumatic-stress disorder (PTSD)?

Then the Explaining the Brain Program may be for you.

What is the Explaining the Brain Program?

The Explaining the Brain Program is designed by our psychologists to help veterans and their families become better educated on the biological mechanisms of PTSD.

The group program will provide an opportunity for participants to learn more about how PTSD is developed and treated, as well as its symptoms and experiences for veterans and their families, in a safe environment.

The Explaining the Brain Program will be offered online as well as in-person at the Mates4Mates Brisbane and Townsville Centres.

Explaining the Brain Program expression of interest

Due to receiving a high volume of EOIs for our programs, please take the time to provide thoughtful and considered responses to the following questions. This is to confirm that participants selected for the program meet our requested criteria.

To ensure that participants for the program are selected fairly, all EOI submissions will be assessed individually to identify which participants have meet the requirements of the EOI and are most suitable to attend the program.

Please note, we are unable to keep EOIs on file as a waitlist for future programs. All programs require individual EOIs to be submitted.

If you selected no because you are not an inducted Mates4Mates member and would like to take part, simply complete the Mates4Mates new client form online and our team will be in touch soon.

Please note: a clinician may ask you during the screening about the possibility of you obtaining a referral for this program. While a referral is not a requirement to participate, it is recommended.
