Mates4Mates Understanding Addiction Workshop

Are you a veteran or a family member who wants a broader understanding of addiction and the recovery process?

Then the Understanding Addiction Workshop may be for you.

What is the Understanding Addiction Workshop?

The Understanding Addiction Workshop is newly designed by our clinicians to help veterans and family members learn practical strategies and receive emotional support relating to addiction and recovery

Through mindfulness and education, the group program will provide an opportunity for participants to achieve a broader understanding of addiction in a safe environment, helping them to build resilience, find hope and embark on a path of recovery.

Upcoming Programs

Townsville

Our next program will run in person at the Mates4Mates Townsville Centre on Thursday, 28 November 2024 from 9:30am to 2:00pm

Veterans and family members who are interested in participating in the Understanding Addiction Workshop will need to undertake an expression of interest (EOI) process. This EOI includes a clinical screening to ensure this workshop is suitable for you.

Submit your expression of interest below.

Expressions of interest close Friday, 25 October 2024, however, expressions of interest may close sooner if a large volume of applications are received. It is therefore recommended that expressions of interest are submitted as soon as possible.

Places in the workshop are dependent on meeting the selection criteria. Please note submitting an expression of interest does not automatically qualify an applicant for the next step in the selection process for this program.

Places in the workshop are available to veterans and family members registered with Mates4Mates. If you are not an inducted Mates4Mates member and would like to take part, simply complete the Mates4Mates new client form online and our team will be in touch soon.

If you are interested in upcoming programs, please don't hesitate to contact programs@mates4mates.org.

Due to receiving a high volume of EOIs for our programs, please take the time to provide thoughtful and considered responses to the following questions. This is to confirm that participants selected for the program meet our requested criteria.

To ensure that participants for the program are selected fairly, all EOI submissions will be assessed individually to identify which participants have meet the requirements of the EOI and are most suitable to attend the program.

Please note, we are unable to keep EOIs on file as a waitlist for future programs. All programs require individual EOIs to be submitted.

If you selected no because you are not a Mates4Mates member and would like to take part, simply complete the Mates4Mates new client form online and our team will be in touch soon.
