SHAPE golf day supports veterans and families

30 April 2024

Mates4Mates partner, SHAPE has raised an incredible $42,000 to help support veterans and families impacted by service.

SHAPE held its 2024 ACT Annual Charity Golf Day on 22 March, with over 110 subcontractors, partners and SHAPE staff hitting the green at the Gold Creek Golf Course in Canberra.

Recently announcing Mates4Mates as its Defence sector charity of choice, SHAPE's annual charity golf day raised $42,000 to support veterans and families experiencing physical injuries, mental health impacts and social disconnection.

SHAPE Chief Executive Officer, Peter Marix-Evans highlighted how proud the organisation is to support Mates4Mates and the role our services play in changing the lives of Australian Defence Force members and families.

“We look forward to continuing a rewarding collaboration with Mates4Mates, with the shared goal of creating a positive impact for our communities. A big thanks to our partners and staff who organised the ACT Annual Charity Golf Day and donated to an incredible cause.”

Mates4Mates Chief Executive Officer, Emma Whitehead shared how vital donations like this from partners, donors and the community are in supporting the veteran community.

“As Mates4Mates continues to meet the growing need for our services, it's through the generosity of others that allows us to do this,” Emma said.

“Thank you to SHAPE, the golf day attendees and all the sponsors who were part of this wonderful event. This donation will help us to continue providing support services for veterans and families who are recovering and reconnecting.”
